Disinfectants in hydroponics have an important role. Hydrocultures and hydroponics systems play a major role in plant breeding and indoor growing in greenhouses. Automated systems enable controlled dosing of water and nutrients for each plant. Unfortunately, such systems are also susceptible to fungal and root diseases promoted by microbial growth in the fertiliser.

Applying a disinfectant for hydroponics to the hydroculture nutrient solution can improve the situation markedly.</span
